The Best Self Defense Video Ever!

The best self defense video ever

When you think of the self defense what’s the first idea on your mind? It’s probably how you will take the guy down or punch him in a face or maybe kick him in the nuts? But that shouldn’t really be first on your mind when you think of self defense.

The first thing should be to avoid any kind of physical conflict. OK, maybe you won’t look like some bad ass or the toughest guy on the planet, but to those who have a bit of brain you will definitely look smarter. And being smart in those situations is all what counts at the end of the day.

In this video we can see some verbal examples on how to avoid any kind of physical conflict and how to be a real winner in those situations. Kicking someone’s ass is not really a win, especially if you end up in jail because he hits the floor with his head or you have to pay a huge amounts of money to someone you barely know!

Joe Rogan Apologized for DC Interview (Video)

Joe Rogan Apologized for DC interview

UFC commentator Joe Rogan doesn’t believe in intervies with fighters after they have been knocked out. He was speaking about it many times, as he knows fighters recovering from a knockout are in no condition to talk.

But Rogan made an exception after Daniel Cornier’s loss last night and it was “ugly”. DC couldn’t stop the tears and Joe Rogan stopped the interview very fast.

Here is what rogan said over social media:

“My apologies to D.C. And to everyone else upset at me for interviewing him after the fight. In all honestly I was kind of in shock and I don’t think I realized what I was doing until I had a mic in my hand and I was talking to him.
I’ve said that I don’t want to interview fighters after they’ve been KO’ed and then I did it to someone that I care a great deal about. It was 100% my fuck up and no one pressured me to do it.
I posted a series of tweets about it on twitter but I know some of you folks only use instagram or Facebook so I thought the right thing to do is post it here as well.
I was beating myself up about it all night, and whenever something like that happens it’s always my sincere intention to apologize and express my honest feelings.
It’ll never happen again.”

Jiu Jitsu practitioner arrested for removing his ankle monitor!

jiu jitsu practition for removing his ankle monitor so he's able to train

When you love Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu so much that you’re willing to take a risk of being arrested just to attend a BJJ Class!

According to News4Jax Guillermo Jose Ocasio Almodovar

Almodovar had to wear an ankle monitor as a condition of his pre-trial released from jail due to a domestic violence allegation but that didn’t stop him to go to BJJ Class and take it off his ankle and risk an arrest.

When police officers came to his house and saw that the ankle monitor is not on he gave them an explanation that the monitor fell of under the shower and that he can’t train with it. He put it in a fridge where they found it later.

Officers didn’t really like his story and what he did so they jailed him up for “criminal mischief.”

This wasn’t the smartest thing to do for Guillermo Almodovar and it cost him freedom but his love for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is priceless

Cris Cyborg is the new UFC Featherweight Champion

Cris Cyborg vs tonya

Cris Justine Cyborg defeated Invicta bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger and is now the new UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion.

Tonya Evinger did an impressive job expecially in the first round. She took Cyborg down two times after they were clinching. She deserves every credit she can get as she was eating some hard punches and kicks but managed to stay on her feet.

It the third round Tonya went down with a head kick, playing open ground but Cyborg wasn’t going to the ground and referee got Tonya up.

Soon after that Cyborg hit her in the head with a knee and she fell down on her knees forcing referee to stop the fight.

Differences between JUDO and BJJ groundwork!

Differences between BJJ and Judo Groundwork

This article won’t be about what martial art is better for groundwork but what are the differences between those two. Primarily because Judo’s groundwork is a bit limited when we talk about sweeps, transitions, submissions… and especially playing from the back.

Why is that so? Because there is a time limit in Judo once you hit the ground. So in modern Judo, it would be a waste of time to train groundwork the way it’s taught in BJJ. You simply have no time to play on the ground and you can’t play from your back. If you hit the floor with your back you lost the match. So why bother with it? The only way you can play from your back is when your opponent pins you down to score a win. But then you’re not really “playing” from the back, you’re trying to get in a neutral position as fast as possible. And when you hit the ground in BJJ that’s where the fight actually starts.

Judo is incredibly complex throwing art on the feet just like Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is incredibly complex art on the ground so talking about what’s better on the ground is a bit clueless.

The best explanation would be to say “it’s the same art with different rules”.

Let’s see what are the main differences between Judo and BJJ groundwork in the video below!

Top Five Biggest Lies in BJJ You Will Hear Almost Every Day in Your Gym!

Top Five Biggest lies in Jiu Jitsu you will hear almost every day!

Here are the top five biggest lies that you will hear while you’re training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Unfortunately, you’ll hear them almost every single time you come to training but you’ll get used to it. And probably you’ll recognize yourself in them if you’re honest enough.

1. Let’s roll light!

How many times have you heard let’s roll light and then they go super hard? Or they asked you to go light and after some time that escalates into a real war?

2. Excuses when tapped out.

You tap him with a foot lock and you hear oh wait my ankle is so sore from one week ago and then they start turning their feet in all directions and saying some non-sense while looking down as they can’t watch you in the eyes as they know they’re lying?

Or you tap them on anything and they say they were testing their defense? They had such a long and hard day? Or they wanted to see if you know how to finish that submission? Or do they just give something for fun?

3. I don’t have an ego!

Yes, you do! We all have an ego! Someone smaller, someone bigger but it’s there. And even if you left your ego at the door you will definitely take it home once you’re finished with the class.

4. Strength doesn’t matter!

Sure it does. How many times you were bench pressed from the side mount? How many times you were in the air when trying to apply a triangle or armbar? How many times you couldn’t stop your opponents from turning into the Turtle? Well, most of the time you’ll hear it from your coach as he doesn’t want you to leave BJJ and go to weight lifting.

5. Annoying Comments and questions after sparring

There are so much annoying comments after sparring especially if you “destroy” someone. But always be cool and act like you’re willing to listen to them. Say it’s true, and put on a big smile.

For example, a question like What’s your weight? They know your weight but they just want to feel good. Or, how tight was my choke on you? If it was a good choke you would tap so… Or, “I had you there but…” No, you didn’t so stop pointing at something that didn’t exist.

Choked Out Fighter Woke Up and KOd his Opponent

knocked out fighter woke up and knocked out his opponent

Weird situation happened on ACB64 MMA event. Nashko Gaev was choked out in round 1 by his opponent Denis Mutsnek. Before he dropped his hands he even did a tap.

Referee was very close to action and he went to check if Nashko was conscious and he suddenly appeared moving his hands and starting to defend. The fight was not stopped and in second round Nashko Gaev Knocked out his opponent with a knee blow to the head.

The main question is, should the referee stop the fight there?
