Danaher Death Squad No Longer Exists! John Danaher Explains Why

Danaher Death Squad no longer exists. John Danaher posted the news on his Instagram profile stating why the divergence occurred.

“End of an era: It is with great sadness that I have to announce the break up of the squad as a unified training and competition team.

“A combination of factors revolving around disagreements in the physical location of a future school, personality conflicts, conflicting values, an inevitable tension between the team brand and the growing individual brands of members were the main factors.”

“I am immensely proud of the tremendous effect the squad had upon the development and direction of our beloved sport over the years. I am extremely confident that all the various team members have risen in competitive ability, teaching skill, and independent creativity that they will be highly successful wherever they choose to go – whatever happens, their legacy is assured and their future very bright indeed. As for the future, it is still uncertain. Most of us still get along very well. I expect some will still train together and we will work together in future projects in accordance with our team philosophy, but no longer as a single unified room.”

I believe the split will have the positive effect of creating a larger footprint for the team as they spread out and develop a wider influence.”

“I always believed that the technical development of the team was best created by a tight, unified room, but at the end of the day human happiness outweighs medals and martial skill and it has become clear that some individual members would be happier in different locations.”

“I would like to thank all the members of the squad for the tremendous effort and myriad sacrifices they made to build a team and legacy that will be remembered, in particular, Garry Tonon, Gordon Ryan, Craig Jones, Eddie Cummings, Nicky Ryan, and Nick Rodriguez. I would also like to thank the many students who formed the room in which the squad developed and honed their skills, and thank you so much to all our faithful followers for your interest and support over the years – I hope and trust we can keep the project of refining our art going despite the changes – Thank you”

It remains to be seen what we can expect in the future and how the situation will develop.

Gordon Ryan said that he’s on to a new start and it’s hard to say what that exactly means at the moment.

Is Gordon Ryan going to open up his own academy? Will Danaher go back to Renzo’s in NY city or he’s going for his own academy?

What’s with other team members? Who are they going to join in case that Gordon and Danaher split?

There are numerous questions and only time will tell what’s going to happen.

As always, all good things come to an end.

Thanks for the memories Danaher Death Squad.

WATCH Alistair Overeem Catching Sheep in Croatia “It’s hard to become a champion here with this kind of food, climate and beauty”

Kickboxing and MMA star Alistair Overeem visits Croatia.

It’s not a secret that Alistair Overeem enjoys his stay in Croatia as he’s coming to Croatia almost every year.

This year he’s spending his days in the city of Split wherefrom he took the ferry to the island of Brac. He went there with around twenty of his friends.

They rented buggies and toured the hidden areas of the island of Brac looking for an adventure.

Among other things, Alistair and his friends visited Vidova Gora from where there is a beautiful view of Bol, and the beach Zlatni Rat, the Croatian pearl of nature and tourism. Overeem did not hide his enthusiasm for the scene.

No-Touch KO Master Ryuken Puts up $5,000 to Fight an MMA fighter

No-Touch KO Master Ryuken Puts up $5,000 to Fight an MMA fighter

Although in his later years, Kiai master Yanagi Ryuken offered $ 5,000, saying that no MMA fighter in the world could beat him. However, his offer was seen by an MMA fighter Iwakura Goh.

In the video below we can see Yanagi Ryuken easily “knocking people out”, probably his students, without touching them. Since man is by nature an autosuggestive being what happens to people like Yanagi Yuken is that after years of deceiving themselves they become self-convinced that something unrealistic is, in fact, real. He simply imagined to himself that he could knock out anyone without even touching them. So convinced, he offered $ 5,000 as proof that his skill was truly realistic.

That was the point where Iwakura Goh stepped in and accepted a challenge.

As we can find out, Iwakura Goh is a martial artist who was training in Boxing at Midori Boxing gym and Jiu-Jitsu in Japan. Before that, he was training in some version of Kyokushin Karate. Those are pretty realistic martial arts so the result of this fight was by no means in question.

What happened in the video below is that self-proclaimed Master of various martial arts like Qigong and other disciplines got destroyed pretty easily. With no real resistance from Master Yanagi Ryuken, a few blows were enough to make the Ryuken surrender and lose $5000.

What’s even more interesting is that before this video was released in 2006, Ryuken claimed he won more than 200 matches in Vale Tudo (anything goes). But, there’s nothing recorded about those fights.

If you google no-touch knockouts you’ll find out that all those “techniques” are based on QI(CHI) energy, which is never proved to exist. A touchless knockout is supposed to be a technique where one would render someone unconscious solely by Chi energy. People believing in this method believe that it’s a way of instantly hypnotizing people making them unable to move or act.

Even some scientists were trying to figure out if Chi energy exists. They were trying to find out and measure if there’s any kind of a force that human beings can produce that would have a KO impact on another human being without making a contact but with no success.

BJJ White Belt Saved the Woman by Subduing the Attacker Until Police Arrived

This video and this situation prove that even a white belt in BJJ can easily subdue the attacker and keep him down for a long time without causing any serious injuries.

The guy in the video is Brett “The Grappler” Ferguson, currently BJJ Purple Belt training in GFT Joondalup in Australia. At the time of this incident, Brett was just a BJJ White Belt.

As we got in touch with Brett to find out what really happened and what caused him to subdue an attacker we found out that he was actually helping the attacker’s wife. Here is what Brett told us:

“I was working at my local IGA store as a security guard when a girl ran into the store saying, please call the police my husband is trying to attack me. So I called the police and told the attacker that he can’t come into the store. I told him to stay outside for his wife’s safety, and when the police arrive you can work it all out.”

“But, he wouldn’t leave the store. He was shouting and yelling saying he wants to see his wife and he was getting aggressive. “

“I said, no mate, wait outside until the police arrive. He said, I want to buy a drink, and I told him to go to the petrol station, but, as expected, he refused it yelling at me.”

“Soon after that, he pushed me and I took him down and held him down for almost half an hour until police arrived.”

“The police arrived after 20-30mins and gave him a 24hour move on notice and took his wife home to get her belongings.” – Brett wrote for BJJ World

The most important thing about this incident is that we both walked away with no serious injuries. – Brett Concludes

Bookmakers Set Logan Paul as a Convincing Favorite Against Anderson Silva

Bookmakers Set Logan Paul as a Convincing Favorite Against Anderson Silva

Although the boxing match between Logan Paul and Anderson Silva has not yet been officially confirmed, Paul’s manager confirmed to the media that this is being worked on and that there is a good chance that the match will really come. That statement alone was enough of an incentive for bookmakers to offer their match to their users.

They did that, and what they put on offer surprised everyone. Namely, Logan Paul, a man who has never beaten anyone before (not even another YouTuber, KSI, from two attempts), is set as a clear favorite in a match against one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, also a man who was previously only a couple of weeks he did a great boxing match in which he defeated the former world champion.

Probably at the expense of his performance against Floyd Mayweather, who is 15 kilograms lighter, the price set for Paul, according to the Twitter portal ProBoxingOdds, is -200, or 1.50 according to the way they are set in our country. If you believe in “Spider”, you may already have the opportunity to deposit at 2.60 and earn very well.

As we mentioned, Paul did eight rounds in his last match against Floyd Mayweather. That match was an exhibition, unlike the one in which Silva defeated Julius Cesar Chavez Jr. But obviously, that exhibition also left a strong enough impression.

To remind you, Logan’s brother Jake is also the favorite in the match against Tyron Woodley, which will take place next month. Will YouTuber who hasn’t been involved in martial arts until recently really beat two former UFC champions? We have to admit that after such offers from bookmakers, it intrigues us more and more.

Road to ADCC Results and Highlights Videos, July 2021

The Road To ADCC brought us some great matches between very well-known grapplers and Champions. it was streamed on Flograppling on Saturday, July 17, 2021, the event that took place was headlined by Kaynan Duarte and 2019 ADCC Champion Matheus Diniz.

The full event went without any major conflicts except for Mikey Musumeci having some bad words for his opponent Geo Martinez.

“I thought we were friends and I always rooted for him,” said Mikey Musumeci.

“And then he just completely changed his persona. I guess he cares more about followers than how he interacts with people. I have so much respect for his jiu-jitsu. As a person, I have zero respect. He should get kicked out of his gym if he acts like that in the gym or a tournament.” – Mikey Musumeci said firmly.

You can check out the results, highlights, and recap of the matches below.

Road to ADCC Results and Highlights, July 2021

  • Roberto Jimenez def. Kade Ruotolo (Rear Naked Choke)
  • Ana Carolina Vieira def. Elisabeth Clay (Points)
  • Lucas Barbosa def. William Tackett (Points)
  • Mikey Musumeci def. Geo Martinez (Points)
  • Nicky Ryan def. Dante Leon (Points)
  • Kaynan Duarte def. Matheus Diniz (Leg Lace)

Roberto Jimenez vs Kade Ruotolo

The fight between Jimenez and Kade started on their feet and none of the fighters even thinking of pulling the guard. The reason behind it is that in this match guard pull would be one negative point to a puller.

The very beginning of the fight hinted that this match would be a war as it was. Both fighters were quite aggressive in the stand-up game. Collar ties were “flying” all over the place. Jimenez tried few single-leg takedown attempts without success. But, we can say that Rutolo was a bit more aggressive with his takedown attempts, resulting in a double leg takedown Jimenez.

While Jimenez was scrambling his way back to the feet Rutolo managed to do a flying armbar jumping over Jimenez. It seemed like the match will end there but Jimenez escaped the armbar and almost managed to get to the side control.

But, Ruotolo wasn’t giving the side control that easy and while trying to recover the guard he even managed to mount Jimenez.

Jimenez managed to escape from the bottom mount position and went for an inside sankaku on Ruotolo without success in submitting him. Ruotolo escaped it and was back on his feet.

From that point, both fighters were exchanging positions from top to bottom without any real attacks going on.

As soon as the clock passed the 10 minutes mark and points became applicable Jimenez took Ruotolo’s back. Soon, he was able to lock a body triangle which led to Ruotolo being unable to escape. Twelve minutes into a fight Jimenez submitted Ruotolo with an RNC.

Ana Carolina Vieira vs Elisabeth Clay

The second match of the evening was a very exciting match between Ana Carolina Vieira (29-6-0) and Elisabeth Clay. The match was full of submission attempts from both sid, but, Vieira came out as a winner in the end.

As the match started Clay was more focused on taking her opponent down with some arm drag techniques but without success. Soon, Clay pulled the guard and started hunting for Vieira’s legs. All of that resulted in some stalling positions without any serious submission attempts and escapes from Ana Carolina Vieira.

As the application of the points began Ana Carolina Vieira got Elisabeth Clay to fight on the feet. WE can say she baited her to a stand-up match as she’s stronger there. Soon Veira took her down for 2 points and started passing her guard with a Guillotine choke. She wasn’t able to pass his guard but her advantage of 2:0 brought her victory by points.

Lucas Barbosa vs William Tackett

An Interesting match happened between Lucas “hulk” Barbosa and William Tackett. Both fighters were pretty defensive on their feet. It seemed like none of them wanted to risk too much.

Few minutes into the match Barbosa managed to take Tackett down with some standing Guillotine choke attempt. Tacket was able to pull his head out but Barbosa managed to take him down.

From that point, Barbosa was doing some high pressure with Body Lock. Tackett was defending the passes pretty well probably because Barbosa wasn’t even trying to pass Tackett’s guard with much effort until the application of the point began.

As soon as the application of points began Barbosa was all over tacket with his guard passes. High pressure with crossface and undertook was something tacket just couldn’t withstand. Barbosa was knee-cutting through Tackett’s guard too easily. It seemed like Barbosa was holding the upper body of Tackett and was just giving him guard recovery to pass his guard again up to a 34:0 lead in points.

Match ended with Barbosa winning 34:0 with 4 negative points for Barbosa for not trying to submit Tackett or doing anything more than just passing. Pretty weird strategy from Barbosa, but it worked out for him perfectly.

Mikey Musumeci vs Geo Martinez

The first few minutes of the fight between Mikey Musumeci and Geo Martinez were on their feet. Martinez was able to take Musumeci down with a leg trip but ended up in an armbar attempt by Musumeci. It was a pretty close armbar and it seemed like that will be the end of the fight but it wasn’t Martinez was able to escape.

Musumeci then focused on entangling Geo’s leg and attacking it but that Martinez wasn’t intimidated with it as he immediately started with his own leg lock counters. Soon after it seemed like Musumeci won the leg lock game as Martinez had to escape and disengage from leg lock battle.

From that point, with around 12 minutes left, Martinez started attacking Musumeci’s guard, but without success in passing it.

As the clock passed 10 minutes mark and the application of points started both fighters were again engaged in a leg lock battle. Toe holds, ankle locks and other submission attempts were on the table but no submission happened.

While exchanging leg lock attacks Musumeci managed to take the back of Martinez and lock a body triangle. He wasn’t able to submit Martinez as he was defending relentlessly. 60 seconds before the match end Musumeci started to attack Martinez from the back as much as he could trying to apply the Rear naked Choke but without success. Martinez was able to escape the back control with standard “shoulders to the mat” escape 15 seconds before the fight end.

Musumeci won the fight via points (6:0)

Nicky Ryan vs Dante Leon

The match between Nicky Ryan and Dante Leon was probably the best match of the evening. Nicky won the fight but injured his knee during the match. It’s still unknown how serious his knee damage is.

The match started with Nicky showing some nice wrestling skills. Although much known as the leg locker Nicky showed that he’s well prepared for standing game. With some guillotine choke attempts from Nicky Ryan that Dante Leon managed to escape, Nicky did a nice Double Leg takedown after about 4 minutes into the match.

From that point, Nicky was trying to attack the legs Leon. Soon he gave up top position and Dante was on his feet trying to pass Ryan’s guard but with no success. Soon, Dante Leon was trying to pass Ryan’s guard while standing very low trying to avoid Ryan’s leg attacks. That was a sign for Nicky to go for another Double Leg takedown from the bottom to reverse the position. He got into a Guillotine choke attempt from Leon but he managed to pull his head out.

With no real intentions of passing Leon’s guard, Dante Leon was able to reverse the position without any effort from Ryan to stop it. He even got negative points for a guard pull.

!0 minutes passed and the points system was up. Leon was trying to pass Ryan’s guard for a short time when Ryan lifted Leon up and Double Leg him again. Leon quickly scrambled his way on top without Ryan being able to get the points.

Few more double leg attacks from Ryan happened but he was unable to keep Leon on the ground. A few minutes before the match ended, Ryan again took Leon down with a double leg and kept him there for two points. Immediately after the takedown, he passed Leon’s guard for another 3 points.

Dante Leon managed to recover his guard and even trying to attack Ryan’s back but without success. Both fighters were back on their feet. As Ryan was limping his way to the center he was given another negative point for a guard pull.

Dante Leon couldn’t pass Ryan’s guard so Ryan was declared a winner by points.

It was pretty unclear why Ryan was limping his way to the center in the middle of the match and even when he has pronounced a winner he explained it after the fight.

He said he hurt his knee in the middle of the match when Leon sprawled on one of his double leg attacks.

Kaynan Duarte vs Matheus Diniz

The main event of the ROAD TO ADCC was a two minutes fight.

Kaynan Duarte did a good job of taking Diniz down very fast with a collar tie and leg trip. Diniz managed to get his half guard up, but Duarte quickly got into a reverse half position locking Diniz’s legs into a leg lace submission.

Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler 2 is Official, Date Confirmed, Five Rounds

What surfaced somewhat unexpectedly in the media last week, and what Dana White confirmed is something that is being seriously worked on. Now it’s officially confirmed. Nick Diaz is returning to the UFC’s Octagon as early as this year with a rematch of one of his most legendary fights.

Reliable sources, including Yahoo Sports, wrote that the information was revealed to them by Dana White in person. Nick Diaz will be fighting at UFC 266 events against Robbie Lawler. It won’t be a title fight, but it will be contracted for five rounds. So it’s the second five-round fight in UFC history, not to be the show’s main fight or title fight. The first was Nick’s brother Nate’s UFC 263 fight against Leon Edwards, held last month.

The UFC 266 event has been scheduled for September 25. in Las Vegas, at the T-Mobile Arena. So far there is no officially confirmed main fight, although all the information says it should be Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega. The featherweight champion and his challenger were the coaches in the current Ultimate Fighter season, whose broadcast is currently roughly in the middle.

Diaz and Lawler first fought in 2004 at UFC 47, as still two young and talented fighters. They provided an unforgettable fight that many still rank among the best in the history of the UFC. After a crazy first round full of action, then 21-year-old Diaz defeated a two-year-old opponent by knockout after a minute and a half in the second round. 17 years later, and with very vivid careers behind them, they will once again find themselves across from each other in the Octagon.

Nick Diaz (26-9, 7-6 UFC) has not fought since January 2015, when he was defeated by Anderson Silva, but that fight was canceled after they both failed a doping test. The 37-year-old fighter’s last win thus dates back to 2011, when he was better than BJ Penn in a comeback UFC fight. After that, he performed twice in really big fights. In the fight for the temporary title, he was defeated by Carlos Condit, and despite that defeat, he got the opportunity to fight for the right one, but Georges St-Pierre was better than him. They both overcame him by a judge’s decision. Diaz was stopped by interruption only twice. In 2002 from Jeremy Jackson in his fifth professional appearance and in 2007 when the doctor interrupted his fight for the Elite XC title against KJ Noons after the first round. The reason for the interruption was the cuts on Nick’s face.

As for the 39-year-old Lawler (28-15, 13-9 UFC), the most prolific part of his career happened after Nick’s last win. In 2013, he returned to the UFC after nine years of performing in other promotions, and by going down to the welterweight category he made a great series that led him to the title. He won her in late 2014 against Johny Hendricks, and then defended her twice in legendary fights against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit. He lost the title in the third defense to Tyron Woodley, after which he still defeated Donald Cerrone. After that, his negative streak started, which currently amounts to four defeats.

Whatever the current summary or form of these two, there is no doubt that the fight will be a hit. They both went through too much for fans not to want to see the clash of these two warriors again. They may not be the main fight, but they are the ones whose merit will be the result of the sale of the broadcast of the event where they will fight.

Gilbert Burns: ‘I won the ‘NMF’ belt, now I want the ‘BMF’ belt’

Gilbert Burns: 'I won the 'NMF' belt, now I want the 'BMF' belt'

The 34-year-old Brazilian BJJ star and MMA Fighter is back in the winning waters after defeating Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson in a title fight at UFC 264. Gilbert ” Durinho ” Burns has fought twice this year, and in February Kamaru Usman knocked him out in the third round of the UFC welterweight belt. “Durinho” had a difficult exam last weekend in the form of an extremely uncomfortable Thompson, but he provided a very good tactical performance and rejoined the fight for the next challenger. Burns has listed a number of names he would love to fight in his next performance, but one name he still prefers.

”I just won the ”NMF” belt (Nicest Mother Fucker). Now I want a “BMF” belt (Baddest Mother Fucker). If Leon Edwards wants a fight, I’m ready. Nate Diaz can also get her own. However, the fight with Masvidal is the one I really want, but he has two defeats in a row. Jorge brings in a lot of money and so they have to thicken my fee to fight him. I will fight Masvidal if you put me on a PPV show. I know I recently fought for the title and I can’t immediately look for a new opportunity. I don’t believe they will give it to me and that’s why I want to keep working. I plan to stay disciplined and improve further. I have to find a balance that will keep me disciplined, but at the same time, I will end the fights. ” Burns said at a news conference after the UFC 264 event. By the way, Stephen Thompson was often called the “Nicest Mother Fucker” and this is the source of Burns’ statement about the “NMF” belt.

It was expected that Gilbert Burns could be a dangerous and embarrassing test for Kamaru Usman who is currently acting invincible. He had “Durinho” of his moments in that fight, but when Usman grabbed the strings and imposed his pace, he soon came to victory by knockout. Burns is thinking a bit about the rematch and thinks he knows what needs to change in his preparation.

”I have to change a lot of things in my preparations. I work a lot on mental change. I got into that fight extremely angrily, I was emotional and it cost me that fight. I have to stay disciplined and be more technically sophisticated. So I want to do one or two more fights before the next belt attack and I have no problem with that. I just did something that guys like Johny Hendricks and Tyron Woodley failed at. I tore down Wonderboy in a way that didn’t work for them. Anyway, I will continue to progress and try to reach the finish line next time.”

Gilbert Burns thinks well and it is a real refreshment to see a fighter at the top of the category who does not think that one victory automatically makes him the next challenger. The Brazilian is aware that he has lost the belt fight relatively convincingly and that he has to work extra before a new opportunity arises. For a long time, Gilbert Burns did not act as a fighter who would reach the very top, but 2019 and the return to the welterweight category bring a turn in his career. Four wins in a row gave him a chance to win the belt. Although he was not successful, with the victory against “Wonderboy” he proved that he belongs to the elite group of the welterweight category, and his progress is visible in every performance he makes. Whether that will be enough to win the belt one day remains to be seen.
