How NOT to Fight the Opposite Sex in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

How to not roll with the opposite sex in brayilian Jiu jitsu

Ever wonder how NOT to fight with Women/Men (opposite sex) in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, well here it is!

Whether that new girl in your Jiu-Jitsu class is smoking hot and you want to get to know her, you want to hit on her, or it just happens to be that she is the only one left to partner up with, here are a few do’s and don’ts…

Should You Wash Your Belt?

Should you wash your Belt in jiu jitsu or not?

This question is as old as GIs.. Ancient Jiu Jitsu lore tells us that black belt started out as a white belt, and with lots of training it’s become dirtier as you’re getting better until it becomes black. So, according to legend you shouldn’t wash your belt because you’ll wash out all your knowledge from it.

As we probably don’t believe in Santa Clause and legends also let’s talk about whether it’s really necessary to wash our belt.

Here are the facts. Yes, you should wash your belt as it’s getting dirty and it’s full of bacteria, fungus and viruses that can be transferred to you or your training partners.

Some people say they don’t wash their belt because they don’t sweat on their belt. True, you’re not sweating on your belt, but you’re sweating on the floor so the floor can easily conduct bacterias, viruses and other microbes to your training partners.

The conclusion is that you have to wash your belt just like you wash your GI or yourself. If not because of your health then because of the health of people around you.

What about you? do you wash your belt or you believe in legends and you’re afraid your knowledge is gone once you wash it?

Man Beating Dog Got What He Deserves From The BJJ Black Belt

Man beating dog attempts to continue on BJJ Black Belt

A man and his wife witness an individual chasing and beating a dog. When they stop to see what is going on they find the man drunk and irate already interacting with other concerned citizens.

When the man’s wife tells the individual the dog needs a leash, he becomes more irate and moves in an aggressive manner towards her. The husband steps in between them and asks the man to back away. The man then lunges toward the husband, throwing a strike towards his face.

Unfortunately for the individual the women’s husband is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and retired pro fighter Dennis Davidson. The fight immediately goes to the ground where the drunk man is subdued until the police arrive.

UPDATE: We have a comment from Black Belt in this clip Dennis Davidson, instructor at American Top Team Rockledge:

“I am the individual in this video. The strong have an obligation to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves. In my life, I have been in a lot of fights. Most of which have been the result of me stepping in to help someone who could not help themselves. The sad part of all of this, is that the state of Florida gave the dog back to this man.”

BJJ Blue Belt (135 lbs.) vs Ninjitsu Black Belt (185 lbs.)

BJJ Blue Belt (135 lbs.) vs Ninjitsu Black Belt (185 lbs.)

Nikolas Collier: A 17 year old (135 lbs.) Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under 7 x IBJJF World Champion Samuel Braga and a Brown Belt in The Collier Method of Judo faces an adult (185 lbs.) Black Belt in Ninjitsu at the KBMA World Championships in Concord, North Carolina (13 May 2017).

This was the championship match in the gi-division. It was a 5 minute match / NAGA Rules. Nik and his brother Jeremiah were the only competitors at this event that were trained in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Judo. As far as we know, all of the other competitors were black belts in Hapkido, Ninjitsu, and Japanese Ju-jutsu.

Many of us have not seen a style-vs-style tournament since the early days of the UFC, so this was a very interesting event. The gentleman Nikolas Collier faced in this video told us he won the championship match last year with a score of 35 to 0. Even though there were various styles and backgrounds competing at this event, all the participants showed great courage and sportsmanship.

Gracies Vs Kung Fu, Judo, Kenpo, Karate, Hapkido – Gracie Challenge

Gracies Vs Kung Fu, Judo, Kenpo, Karate, Hapkido...

The Gracie challenge was an open invitation issued by some members of the Brazilian Gracie family, known for their Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) mastery, to martial artists of other styles to fight them in a vale tudo match. A precursor to the Ultimate Fighting Championship(UFC), the purpose of these challenges was to prove the effectiveness of the Gracie style of BJJ. Challenges have been issued since Carlos Gracie first made one in the 1920s with some becoming public events while others have remained private.

In this video se can see BJJ Vs Kung Fu, Judo, Kenpo Karate & Hapkido. No rules. No ref. No time limit. Lets see some Gracie Jiu Jitsu in action…

Black Belt Coach Gets Tapped By Blue Belt

Blue Belt Taps Out Black Belt

Here’s a video of me rolling with one of my blue belts. Alvin is 135 lbs and I am 170 lbs. Every know and then I will get caught by one of my students. It happens even though most instructors won’t admit it.

Well, it may not happen if your instructor goes 100% everytime they roll with you. But what is the purpose of going 100% and beating up your students? In my opinion smaller and weaker opponents won’t develop as well if you go 100% on them. anyway, in this situation I get sloppy when going for a ankle lock. I normally don’t go for ankle locks, especially when wearing a gi.

Why? The pants sometimes get in the way like they did in this video. But instead of giving up on the ankle I kept trying to get my hand in and that’s what leads up to me getting submitted with a heel hook. Anyway, keep on training and I hope you learn something from this video.

Guy Tries to Frighten BJJ Black Belt Enson Inoue and Regrets it

guy tries to frighten BJJ Black Belt and regrets it

Following someone with a car to his house and trying to intimidate him is a very stupid idea. But if you’re not tough enough to handle it it’s even more stupid idea.

This happened to BJJ Black Belt and MMA fighter Enson Inouse. What happened next you can see on his instagram post.

“Check out this loser. Blasted his horn at me, I turned, and followed me to my house.
He parked his car down the street, got out and was walking towards my house until he saw me get out of my car. He then stopped and seemed to hesitate in what to do when I began walking towards him.”

“He then began to apologize as I asked him what he was planning to do by coming here. He’s the type of guy that would scare and scream at someone weaker. Today, he picked the wrong car.

“I could see he was scared shitless and regretted his choice so I decided to accept his apology and let him go home. Hope he thinks twice before behaving the way he did again.”
