Gas Station Clerk Uses Jiu-Jitsu to Subdue a Robber with a Chokehold

Gas Station Clerk Uses Jiu-Jitsu to Subdue a Robber with a Chokehold

Norwood store clerk Ebrahiam Gawargi is training Jiu-Jitsu for two years. When a robber tried to attack him and take the money his grappling skills were put to the test.

While training in Jiu-Jitsu Ebrahiam’s last thought was that he’ll have to use the skills he learned to save his own life.

“He didn’t say anything, he came and started punching me- He threw a couple of punches to my face” – described Ebrahaim how everything started

The fight started with both men landing blows and last for few minutes.

“He was really strong, he put some hard punches into my face.” – said Ebrahiam

Ebrahiam ended the fight thanks to the move he learned on the mats.

“When I took him down I did a Guillotine Choke. That’s the best thing I can do” – Ebrahiam explained

That chokehold caused 46-year-old robber, John Benedict to lose consciousness.

Another customer called Norwood Police, who arrested John for unarmed robbery, and assault, and battery.

Ebrahiam’s coach, and Connor’s Martial Arts owner, John Connors, had only words of praise for Ebrahiam:

“His nickname is ferocious just because of the way he trains. When I saw the video I was really impressed. He really was ferocious and he did all of his techniques. The attacker was much bigger than him, so he did an amazing job.”

If you’re in a similar situation Ebrahiam does not recommend fighting back. He said he would have simply handed over that cash if the robber would’ve asked.

Diniz Chokes Barbosa Unconscious, But Still Loses the Match. Gordon Ryan Reacts!

Diniz Chokes Barbosa unconscious, but still loses the match

BJJ stars 6 has fulfilled the expectations of fans when it comes to the quality of matches, organization, and everything that goes with such events.

However, this event will remain remembered for the controversial situation that took place in the match between Lucas “HULK” Barbosa and Matheus Diniz.

Barbosa and Diniz spent most of their fight on the feet. Barbosa was shooting for takedowns for the majority of the time while Diniz was able to defend the takedown with explosive sprawls.

Half a minute before the match end Barbosa was able to take Diniz down and secure himself two points.

While that seemed like a clear win for Barbosa, only a few seconds before the end Diniz timed his Arm Drag to put Barbosa to the ground. He immediately secured the position with one leg and his arm under Barbosa’s chin.

While Diniz was trying to do One Arm Rear Naked Choke the buzzer rang with Diniz signaling to the referee that Barbosa is unconscious.

When the referee came to Barbosa to check him up it was clear that Barbosa is out.

After the referee’s short debate, the decision was that Barbosa went unconscious after the buzzer rang, so he was declared a winner by points.

Do you think this was the right call?

Check out the video of what exactly happened and the reaction of Gordon Ryan.

“Wait, did hulk just get strangled completely unconscious, then somehow win, then flex and beat his chest after knowing he just got strangled unconscious?😂😂wtf did I just watch?”

Orlando Sanchez Shares His Side of the Story on Incident with Sean Strickland: "He Talked Sh*it About Jiu-Jitsu"

Earlier this week, we wrote about the physical altercation between Orlando Sanchez and UFC fighter Sean Strickland. Strickland interpreted one move from Sanchez (Mir Lock) as a dirty move with the intention of hurting him. That resulted in Strickland trying to kick and punch Sanchez.

Orlando Sanchez reacted very calmly to everything while trying to explain and calm Strickland down.

Yesterday, Orlando Sanchez gave an interview for Flograppling in which he explained what actually happened and how it all started.

“Everybody thinks this guy was my training partner. I never met him before in my life. I have no clue who he is, who he was, nothing. Never heard of him before. We were just hanging at the RVCA training center. I was with my friend Cartel. We were doing some boxing and footwork, having fun. It was my boxing coach’s birthday and we were having a good time.”

“So, there was a guy there and I have never seen him in my life. That guy was just talking shit. He was sparring with one of our friends and he just kept running his mouth. But it wasn’t my business so I stayed out of it.”

“Then he came where we were standing. He immediately started bragging about how my big boy Cartel doesn’t belong in the gym. “You can always tell when someone doesn’t belong in the gym when they’re doing stupid shit like wearing a cap on their head in the boxing ring”. He was just talking shit and then he said he’ll do few more wrestling rounds.”

“Then, the coach really wanted him to grapple with me. He was saying “do round with Orlando, do round with Orlando”.”

“That’s where he went like, “who the fuck is Orlando”?. I said I don’t know, I’m nobody. Someone told him, he’s Jiu-Jitsu World Champion. “

“He said like, Jiu-Jitsu world champion (while shaking his fist up and down), this is what I think about Jiu-jitsu.”

Orlando Sanchez on Sean Strickland's Jiu-jitsu opinion

“That still didn’t bother me at all.”

“He started talking more shit about Jiu-Jitsu. He came over and asked me what I do? Jiu-Jitsu, wrestle… but he continued, regardless of who you are I’m still gonna beat the shit out of you.”

“At this point, I was like who is he talking to. I wasn’t sure he’s talking to me.”

“Coach jumped in and told both of us to go and grapple. That’s where the video starts.”

“Now, everybody is making it out like he’s my training partner, I have to take care of him, etc. Well, he’s just a guy who told me he’ll beat my ass.”

“I showed him that I was under control from the get-go. That’s basically all I did. Nothing to hurt him, nothing to be a dick. Those of you who know me know I would never do something to hurt my training partners. I just wanted to show who’s in charge (laugh).”

On a question, “do you think it was a dirty move?”, Orlando answered:

“If you’re going to hold it cranking, even then it’s not a dirty move. I don’t know why people are calling it a dirty move. If you’re holding it and cranking it, and guy taps and you won’t let go then it’s a dirty move. But the way I did it, no. I was in control. I knew how far I pushed it. “

“It was just a little wake him up move.”

“He reacted as you saw but he apologized right after the video. We were cool. He said I’m sorry for my reaction, I reacted like an idiot.”

“It’s all good for me. I’m training and fighting for so many years and things are way worse in the gym. It’s just this Internet thing right now. people are making fake accounts saying they want to kill my mom. It’s insane. It’s a wild s… over an arm crank.”

People said they were super impressed with your reaction?

“He was acting like an MF ninja. I defended his punch and strike and I was like WTF?”

“My point is that you can’t go with “I’m gonna beat the f… out of you and not get a reaction.”

“I got hundreds and hundreds of messages from people saying they wanted me to beat his a#$. He beats all training partners. He’s a bully.”

“I don’t know anything about him, I just know he knocked someone out two days before that.”

“Just don’t tell me you’ll beat my a#$ off and then get mad when I do something.”

Orlando sent a message to everyone in Jiu-Jitsu community who are “attacking” him online for the last few days.

“All you Jiu-Jitsu f. nerds who are talking s… I was defending Jiu-jitsu. So, come on, apologize MFs.”

At the end of the interview, Orlando Sanchez sent a message to Strickland himself and gave his opinion.

“Sean is all good. I have no problem with him. I wish him all the best. I hope he beats Urijah Hall in his upcoming fight.”

Mo Jassim Accuses Andre Galvao and Robert Drysdale for ADCC 2007 Match Fixing. Marcelo Garcia Got Robbed?

Mo Jassim Accuses Andre Galvao and Robert Drysdale for ADCC 2007 Match Fixing. Marcelo Garcia Got Robbed?

Lately, there’s a lot of controversy in ADCC 2007 and fixed matches of Robert Drysdale in the absolute division.

A few days ago Mo Jassim, ADCC Head Organizer, published on his Instagram profile a story:

“Not many people know this but Marcelo Garcia had 7 subs going into the 2007 ADCC Absolute finals to face Robert Drysdale. It’s no secret that Drysdale and 2 others coordinated and did fixed matches which allowed Drysdale to go into the finals fresh against Marcelo.

It absolutely pisses me off that because of weak ass shady shit it cost Marcelo the possible opportunity to do what only roger has done, double gold with 100% submissions, and the fact that Marcelo competed at 77 kg would have made it even more impressive. Nothing can be said or done to ever make it right for Marcelo.

I’m so sick of the phoniness sometimes in this sport. So many people preach respect and honor, just practice and live what you preach.”

Andre Galvao admits he fixed matches

According to what we can see below in a chat between Gordon Ryan and Andre Galvao, it’s not a secret there was fixing of matches at ADCC.

Gordon Ryan: why do you keep openly admitting your fight at ADCC 2007 was fake?

Andre Galvao: Because it was. I fought a teammate. As I said, I got penalized by ADCC. Even after getting double gold medals, they made me go back to the trials in 2009. Guess what? I went back to the trials. I fought it and I won 7 fights. No easy path for me, only for you.

Mo Jassim accuses Robert Drysdale of cheating and fixing matches on ADCC 2007.

Soon after Mo Jassim stepped in with his comment for Robert Drysdale:

I’ve had a beef with what you did for a long ass time. Well before Gordon came into the scene. The truth is you are an older generation guy who is pissed the sport didn’t have fame and money when you competed. That’s what it stems from.

I’ve pumped in close to a million dollars of personal money into this sport with no returns and ADCC 2019 and 2022 won’t be touched for a long ass time. Your biggest achievement was a fixed ADCC title, 2 failed UFC drug tests and was cut and your top student Felipe left you.

So, anytime you want to compare track records for the sport I’m ready. Anytime you mention my name I’ll check you with the facts. Every single time.

Robert Drysdale responded to Mo Jassim:

I didn’t fix anything (trust me I didn’t need to. Those who know, know.) Andre speaks for himself. I walked in there to win and I won. Whatever Andre did or didn’t do I have nothing to do with. Funny that the loser of the match would say that. I wonder why.

After Drysdale’s comment, they continued:

Mo Jassim: Stop Bullshiting. You and Andre trained together for that ADCC. Galvao was punished and forced to do trials to come back. Go watch the match. Yeah, you’re right, Galvao beats Werdum but when he faces you he just got melted. You think I don’t know who the 3rd person involved was= Spread your bullshit to people new to the sport, not someone who has been going to ADCC for 21 years. You cheated to get that title and everyone around knew it 100%.

Robert Drysdale: What third person are you talking about here? No Clue. Andre trained with me, yes. Wanna guess what happened repeatedly? And how I have nothing to do with any of this? Because I didn’t need it. I walked in there to win and I won. Zero faults. If you are an ADCC expert, you can put 2+2 together. I’m 100% innocent here and in the right. I have made my mistakes in the past and I’m far from perfect, but not now. My title was earned as was everything else in my life. I never had to kiss ass or “play the game” to do it. Pure merits, nothing handed to me. You aren’t shitting on me, you’re shitting on your current ADCC super fight champ.

Mo Jassim: Galvao has said it was a fixed match buddy. What the hell are you talking about?. ADCC forced him to do trials again for cheating. You, Galvao, and Pablo all trained for that ADCC. And now your theory is that Galvao did fix the match but he didn’t tell you? This is the theory you are going to go with? You do realize the match is on youtube? and it isn’t the worst looking match I have literally ever seen in my life. Instead of owning it like a man you are going to keep denying it like a coward. Your biggest achievement in the sport was a fraud. I’m sorry, but that’s reality. Also, please drop that high Horse attitude like you are 100% honorable and would never do anything to cheat. You failed 2 UFC drug tests in a row and never competed. Stop the lies.

Robert Drysdale: Let’s go on a podcast so I can tell everyone the truth then. Your champ was getting tapped repeatedly in practice. Everything else is NOT on me. I went in there to win, and I did my job. Zero Fault here and zero requests. I’m flattered you followed my MMA career. Let me know when you have one. I’m a coward? LOL, I stepped into a cage to fight. How many people can say that? I’ve lived my life outside of my comfort zone. Some people’s courage is limited to typing into a phone.

Why do you think he did that? Expert?

Mo Jassim: Yeah, Galvao beat Werdum, and then he looked like a white belt against you. Then Galvao admits he did a fixed match he didn’t because he was embarrassed losing to you? Risking the fact if he didn’t win trials he wouldn’t be invited back to ADCC. This is so idiotic it’s laughable. Also, Robert here is the nail in the coffin to your argument. After ADCC 2019 you messaged me complaining about Gordon And Garry’s theatrics and what did I say? I mentioned your fixed match in 2007. Why didn’t you deny it to me then? I still have the message if you want to see it.

Robert Drysdale: You said so much unintelligent things on that message I skipped thought it all. You literally justified current ADCC mistakes claiming that it’s always been the case. You lost me there. Let’s go on a debate and I will tell everyone the track record of ADCC on this topic. Again. I never requested, suggested, or needed a fixed match. I have zero part in this. Anyone who knows people from Checkmat/Brasa from those days will confirm this to you. They know the truth, including Pablo. What you think is irrelevant to me. I know, and those who were there know. If you want to discuss this with me, my offer stands. Call me a coward? Lol, you got some nerves. I literally have done everything there is to do in this sport and at the highest level. I would never brag about it if you didn’t compel to me.

Mo Jassim: Let’s keep it simple. You’re lying through your teeth. You just hate that the sport now has media attention and money. You hate it because you’re not a part of it. You cheated in ADCC just like you did in the UFC twice in a row. Whatever makes you sleep at night. If I’m going to the podcast it will be about how I’m going to make ADCC 2022 the biggest grappling event of all time, not your fixed match from 14 years ago. I assure you one thing. Your biased cheating ass won’t be commenting. I’ll send you a link when tickets go on sale so you can watch ADCC in your hometown.

Robert Drysdale: Don’t bother. I’m not that interested in an event with a huge budget (no profits) with less than 100 competitors and less organized than any provincial show. And how can I have cheated if I didn’t ask/suggest anything? Wanna know the truth? Ask those who were there. The truth makes me look good, not bad. As for my career, again, flattered you followed it. It was hard to get in there and fight. Only those who have been there know what it’s like. The fear, anxiety, hard training is not for everyone. Enjoy the show from a chair/couch and stay consistent.

Mo Jassim: ADCC 2019 was so bad. We sold out 4000 seats and considered the greatest ADCC ever. You jump around to whatever suits you. Remember when you commentated on ACB and went after Flo talking shit and saying how ACB was going to take over? How that work out for you? Also, if you want to talk shit on ADCC 2019, let’s be real. You had one top student, Felipe Andrew, who left for another team. Maybe it’s you, man.

Robert Drysdale: You are so inconsistent it’s painful. My life is awesome and I’m flattered you know so much about it.

Dana White Confirms Nick Diaz is Returning to the Octagon This Year

Dana White confirms Nick Diaz is Returning to the octagon this year

Nick Diaz’s return to the arena has been updated since the middle of last year. One of the most popular fighters of all time returned to full training last summer, with the goal of proving to himself he can fight again at the highest level. After succeeding in this, he ordered his managers to arrange a fight for him.

For now, that’s all that matters, Nick’s return is still awaited, and the one who has to give the green light is UFC President Dana White. He wasn’t a fan of the idea until recently, but apparently, something’s changed in the meantime.

“I wasn’t too excited about it because I didn’t believe it was going to happen this year, but at the moment everything seems like it will. It looks like Nick Diaz is going to fight this year, it seems really promising,” Dana White told Farah Hannoun, from UFC Arabia.

Nick and Dana met recently, and White wasn’t sure if he should give Diaz a chance. He said they had a great conversation, but he was looking for proof that Nick really wants to fight. Although Diaz told him personally, he failed to convince him. In the meantime, they didn’t talk, but some things seem to have changed.

“The last time I saw him was in Jacksonville, but we didn’t talk. I left that to matchmakers, but it all leads to him fighting,” the UFC president confirmed with a smile on his face.

Nick Diaz had his last fight in January 2015, when he was defeated by Anderson Silva. That fight was eventually annulled as they both failed a doping test. His last victory dates back to 2011, when he defeated BJ Penn, thus winning the position of UFC challenger for the welterweight title. He failed to win the title against Georges St-Pierre.

He is scheduled to be at UFC 263 this week alongside his brother Nate, who will be fighting Leon Edwards there. An encounter with White is thus very likely, and then it may be better known, and against whom and when Nick could fight.

Logan Paul Announces Next Steps: ‘I’m a Grappler at Heart, I’ll Definitely Try MMA’

Logan Paul I'm Grappler

While many, until recently, would have found the idea of a match between one of the best boxers of all time and a guy who makes funny videos unbelievable, the match happened. It happened in a way that had media attention and fan attention, as some of the biggest fighting trials. The match was a resounding success, no doubt about it, even though it was an exhibition, and what was seen in the ring was actually sparring.

Logan Paul is the one who can be happier with everything that has happened. He endured eight rounds and showed his progress. In addition, he showed some skills that could bring him closer to another martial art, for which he expressed interest.

“Indeed, I caught him a lot,” Paul told the media immediately after the match, commenting on a large number of clinch entries, adding that it actually comes from his background: “In time, I’ll definitely try MMA, no doubt about it. Because I’m a very good grappler. You know, I’m a grappler at heart.”

Paul wrestled during high school and achieved some significant results, and he continued to wrestle recreationally after school, when he had already reached fame, first through posts on the now-deceased “VINE” platform, and then on YouTube.

As for the match itself, Logan is pleased with how he did it, even convinced that he would win more rounds than the legend he had against himself in case of scoring.

“You know what, if the fight had gone to the referee’s decision, I would have won. Technically, that was the plan. When you fight someone like Floyd, against a legend, a boxer, you expect them to recognize your tactics and your plan. I think I hit him in the first round with a good shot and that’s where I warned him. But I have to be modest, just surviving against Floyd is great. He’s my second opponent in general. Hey, second opponent and right away Mayweather. Of course, I’m happy and I’m fine entertained, ”concluded Paul who later added that his only goal is to entertain people.

Entertain people, and also make bad money. To do something in which you are not good and in which there are a huge number of better professionals who can only dream of such an amount. The guy knows how to sell himself, no one can deny that.

Mayweather and Paul in one of the longest staredowns, Floyd doesn’t worry about his biggest ‘Flaw’

Floyd Wayweather Paul Logan staredown

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and YouTube sensation Logan Paul did a long and intense staredown announcing their clash at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

The exhibition match according to special rules will be held on the night from Sunday to Monday, and both participants of this meeting announced in a few sentences a fight that attracted a lot of attention, both from those who can hardly wait for it and from those who criticize it.

“It will be fun. There is a difference between a YouTube fighter and an elite fighter. I have nothing to worry about, I am a fighter, and someone who has worked as a professional for 25 years. I fought the best, saw every style, and always won,”

“So why don’t I fight Logan Paul then? He’s a huge YouTube star. He has a huge number of followers and he managed to achieve that even before I knew about YouTube. I’m a big name in boxing, and when you connect our worlds, then you know something crazy is going to happen. I’m glad he has confidence and believes in himself. But when I think back a little better, all 50 fighters I’ve faced have said the same thing.” Mayweather said.

Mayweather for this match at the weigh-in must not weigh more than 72.6, while Paul is allowed to appear with as much as 86.2 pounds. But that difference doesn’t bother Floyd at all.

“In most of my fights, I weigh about 10 pounds less. I don’t bother with that because you win in fights – by fighting.”

How come he accepted this match?

“I retired from boxing, but not from fun and making money,” Mayweather concluded.

On the other hand, Logan Paul will have the opportunity to stage one of the biggest sensations in the history of the sport.

“I think I have to knock him out. Yes, someone will end up knocked out, someone will give up. I didn’t choose boxing, boxing chose me. I was challenged to box and I decided to accept that. Boxing is easier for the body than MMA. “MMA is a tough sport and my knees are in bad shape. I’m getting old but I still have a strong upper body,” Paul said.
