BJJ stars 6 has fulfilled the expectations of fans when it comes to the quality of matches, organization, and everything that goes with such events.
However, this event will remain remembered for the controversial situation that took place in the match between Lucas “HULK” Barbosa and Matheus Diniz.
Barbosa and Diniz spent most of their fight on the feet. Barbosa was shooting for takedowns for the majority of the time while Diniz was able to defend the takedown with explosive sprawls.
Half a minute before the match end Barbosa was able to take Diniz down and secure himself two points.
While that seemed like a clear win for Barbosa, only a few seconds before the end Diniz timed his Arm Drag to put Barbosa to the ground. He immediately secured the position with one leg and his arm under Barbosa’s chin.
While Diniz was trying to do One Arm Rear Naked Choke the buzzer rang with Diniz signaling to the referee that Barbosa is unconscious.
When the referee came to Barbosa to check him up it was clear that Barbosa is out.
After the referee’s short debate, the decision was that Barbosa went unconscious after the buzzer rang, so he was declared a winner by points.
