Several times during the UFC 268 broadcast, we saw how many surprises, very often pleasant, MMA can offer. So many times we get something we didn’t think could happen, but we secretly hoped. And again, we are surprised because, despite everything we have seen and experienced so far, we did not really think that something like that would happen in a particular fight.
A lot was expected from the fight between Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler at the start. However, first of all, from the stylistic side, that is, there were questions in that direction. It was believed that Gaethje should keep the fight on her feet and hit the already proverbially weak Chandler’s chin, while the former Bellator champion was assumed to have to win by wrestling. And here we are all thinking about which strategy will prevail. It seemed so simple, and even then exciting.
In the end, we got a phenomenal 15 minutes of perhaps the best fight of the year. Two top warriors who did their best and who hit and automatically received terrible blows. Where did Chandler get his beard now? A fighter who was knocked down by Patricio Pitbull and Charles Oliveira with much weaker blows than the ones he received in dozens in this fight. How much longer can Gaetje fight this way and win? We ask these questions looking with delight at what these two warriors were providing in Octagon.
Also, they behaved like warriors after the fight. Greetings full of respect and presenting the same through statements. And then something we couldn’t see on the screens. A meeting at the hospital resulted in a photograph that will also go down in history, as the final passage of this chapter of the anthology MMA book.

Truly the perfect end to what we had a chance to see. Something in the style of what Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson did after their fight, which this year absolutely deservedly became part of the UFC’s “Hall of Fame”. And what Yair Rodriguez and Chan Sung Jung did in five rounds after their miraculous war. The only thing is that the faces of Gaethje and Chandler remained in a slightly better condition, but they also did two rounds less than the duo whose legendary photos he can see below the text.
